Infertility
“I first came to East Wind Acupuncture at the age of 36 after my husband and I had tried unsuccessfully to have a baby for the past four years. I finally accepted a diagnosis of infertility, and was told by specialists that the causes may include advanced maternal age, elevated FSH levels, and swollen fallopian tubes based on multiple test results.
In the midst of working with diagnostic tests, I became pregnant and quickly miscarried at 6 weeks in early 2006. I was given one round of Clomid by a gynecologist without any results. I never was treated by the reproductive endocrinologist, but did use acupuncture treatments to offset the effects of complications from an attempted laparoscopy and the steroids that cased facial twitches during the work-up process. I was also informed that acupuncture could help with fertility.
After less than 6 months of acupuncture treatments, and some diet/supplement changes recommended as part of my treatment plan at East Wind, I became pregnant. This was one month before I was to start IVF treatments. I was able to cancel my IVF, cancel my loan application and save many trips to Chicago! On January 1, 2008, we had a 7 lbs. 9 oz. healthy baby boy! Thanks so much for all your expertise and assistance.”

Chronic Back Pain
“Twenty-one years ago in April of 1985, I fell down the steps and injured my back. I went through physical therapy, two surgeries and was on many, many pain pills, which eventually did nothing to ease my pain. Sixteen years later in 2001, the pain became so unbearable that I had to go to the hospital. I spent five days there on morphine. The doctor said I needed to go for pain management. They gave me different shots in the spine, but the pain seemed to get worse They ended up putting me on morphine once a day. However, I still suffered with chronic back pain. About four years later in August of 2005, the morphine quit working. I couldn't walk, sit, stand, or lay down without screaming in pain. I knew not to call the doctor as he told me there was nothing he could do.
I thought to try acupuncture for my back pain because I had used acupuncture in 1988 to quit smoking and it was successful. By my second treatment, I was able to function a little better. I still had pain, but it was more tolerable. I also suffered from bone-on-bone arthritis in both of my knees, fibromyalgia, and diabetes, which were addressed as well through a treatment plan specifically designed for me.
I haven't felt this good in 20 years! I have receiving acupuncture for about seven months now. I went from taking 15 prescriptions drugs a day, to taking only five. I occasionally have a flair-up, but can be managed through rest or acupuncture. I am no longer in chronic pain. Acupuncture also helped me with my allergies. Pediatric Allergies & Asthma
“I first brought my son to East Wind Acupuncture in May of 2006. He was diagnosed by his pediatrician with allergy-induced asthma at the age of 3. Any time Alex got a virus it would turn into asthma or pneumonia. He was hospitalized when he was 3-1/2 for pneumonia. He was treated by his pediatrician and an allergist and also saw an ears, nose and throat specialist for chronic ear infections. He was prescribed 4 different daily medications, which did not help him so I quit giving them to him. Since being treated at East Wind, his lungs have been clear and he isn’t taking any medications. He played his first season of baseball this summer with absolutely no breathing problems. He has also taken his eating habits and exercise a lot more seriously. He wants to be healthy and feel great even at his young age.”
